Muthayammal Educational Trust was founded on the basic principle of serving the adjacent rural communities and brining to this region of South India, quality higher education and thus paves way for a wider variety of career options. In the year 1984, Muthayammal Educational Trust was established to create higher educational facilities to poor rural people who could not go to towns and cities in pursuit of higher education. The trust is started by Mr.R.Ramasamy as a Chairman, Mr.K.P.Ramaswamy as a Secretary and Mr.R.Kandasamy as a Treasurer, while Er.K.Gunasekaran as a Executive Director, Mr.R.Jayaprakash as a Admission Director, Mr.R.Muthuvel as a Academic Director, Tmt Sulochana Ramaswamy, Tmt Ammani Kandasamy, Mr. R.Premkumar as a Member of the Trust.
In the year 1984, the Trust entered its first Foot-print with Muthayammal Polytechnic College. Its second Foot -print with Muthayammal Arts and Science College in the year 1984 Its third Foot-print with Muthayammal Industrial Training Institute in the year 1999. It advanced its steps towards Muthayammal Engineering College in the year of 2000.

The college is situated 5 km away from Rasipuram on the east in a calm, serene, rural area and is well connected by buses. Nestled amidst the sylvan steeings of verdant farmlands, the college provides a serene ambiance to facilitate focused learning.

COMPUTER CENTRE: The Computer Centre was established with the objective of providing computational environment for the academic and research community of the institution and also cater to the computational needs of faculty members. The centre offers training and development (including assignment, manuscript preparation etc) apart from being a support service for the faculty, student and staff.

Placement
The aim of this department is to impart training right from first year of study and make every student employed in the best industries of their choice. The Department is headed by HR personnel with wide range of knowledge and experience.
To supplement the theoretical knowledge gained thro' classroom study, students are taught on all aspects of practical applications by the experts drawn from various industries and academia. Interactive sessions on core areas chaired by Job providers are also arranged. The well defined agreement with top notch corporate and software companies, help to conduct interviews in the college all through the years.
In this direction, students are pre-tested with different set of questions at appropriate intervals. This process makes the students to be thorough with the subjects they have studied right from their first year and keeps them ready to face interviews. The salient feature of this exercise is the interaction among the students by means of question-answer session designed by themselves.
