March 16, 2008 - Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) - 2008

Applications are invited for the TANCET 2008 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamilnadu. Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2008-09 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / standalone institutions. Some Universities and Self-Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the students on the basis of TANCET for their quota of seats.

Issue of Application Forms: 17.03.2008
Last Date for Online / Internet Registration & Issue of Application Form at Co-ordinating Centres, Bank Counters and by post (other than Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai): 04.04.2008
Last Date for Issue/Receipt of Application Forms in person: 08.04.2008
The Entrance Exam will be conducted on 17.05.2008 and 18.05.2008

Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.300/- (General) and Rs.150/- (Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates)
By Post: Rs.350/- (General) and Rs.200/- (Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates)

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
Demand Draft in favour of "The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University Chennai" payable at Chennai from any Nationalised bank on or after 08.04.2008. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:

• In Person: Application forms can be had on payment of cash or DD from the following Co-ordinating Centres: Anna Universy, Chennai; Govt. College of Technology, Coimbatore; Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai; Govt. College of Engineering, Salem; Bishop Heber College, Trichy; Govt. College of Engineering, Tirunelveli and Thanthai Periyar Govt. Institute of Technology, Vellore and from the selected branches of State Bank of India.
  
  
• By Post: Application form can also be obtained by post by sending Demand Draft along with a requisition letter and a self addressed slip to "The Secretary, TANCET, Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai, Chennai - 600 025".
  
  
• Through Website: Fill the Online Application from the website www.annauniv.edu/tancet2008 and send the application along with Demand Draft towards registration fee to the below address.

Eligbility:

• M.B.A: A pass in any Degree 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern or a pass in any Degree with 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern
  
• M.C.A: A pass in any Degree 10 + 2 + 3/4 years pattern with core Mathematics at +2 level or Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree levels or a pass in with 10 + 3 (Diploma) + 3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree levels.

Those who are appearing for final year / semester examination in April / May 2008 can also apply for TANCET 2008.

The completed application forms should reach "The Secretary, TANCET 2008, Examination Centre, Anna University, Chennai - 600 025" on or before 08.04.2008, by 05:30 PM.
