SKR Engineering College established in the year 2001, is managed by Srinivasa Educational Trust. The College is situated on the Bangalore highway and is about 20 km from Chennai Central Railway station and Airport.
The College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College is ISO 9001:2000 certified by TUV Germany for its quality educational Management System.
The College runs with the sole aim of imparting quality technical education to the students and to develop them into best Engineers, both in theory and practice. We do not Just confine with teaching Science and Technology of Engineering, but strive to crown it with an exercise to instill into each student the virtues and skills needed to make a difference in the world of tomorrow.

Value Added Programs in the Campus
- Within a short span of time SKR has become one of the largest Linux academic clusters in and around Tamilnadu. To strengthen this Linux Backbone Initiative, we have joined hands with Redhat Academy to become a value partner.
- In order to keep abreast with latest windows technologies SKR has formed many windows workstation bays and holds about 100+ licensed windows products through Microsoft Academic License Program.
- Deployment of Lab view and few other such premier software made us a distinct academic channel partner of National Instruments, a leading US based MNC that is known for best quality electronics and embedded equipments.
- As a humble participation in the mass movement of renewing green earth, SKREC is proud to embrace Go Green initiatives such as Solar Energy based Products, Reduction/Elimination of Paper with Technology, Planting green saplings etc.
- For the Mechanical Engineering the college has purchased host of CAD/CAM softwares. In that the department is actively involved in consultancy projects using SolidWorks.
Infrastructure
LIBRARY: The Central library is spacious and well laid out with modern facilities.
Besides the well maintained department library, the central library has a
collection of large number of volumes and has subscribed for many
National and International journals, which cater to fulfill the needs of the
students of all disciplines. The Library is fully computerized to facilitate the
Students to access online e-journals.
Anna University – EDUSAT Facility: We have established edusat Satellite facility in our College. Through this facility, students can view live lecture sessions given by Professors of Anna University. Also, the lecture sessions are stored in DVD's and the same are being used as when they are required and to reinforce the learning of concepts.
LABORATORIES: Each Department is well equipped with state of the art computers, advanced softwares, networking components, other equipments and machineries.
WORKSHOP: A Well maintained workshop consisting of fitting, carpentry, foundry, smithy, sheet metal and welding divisions is established.
COMPUTER CENTER: The state of the Art Computer Center / Laboratory is fully equipped with 150 Multimedia enabled PIV Systems powered with latest software's. High speed Internet lab is available in holiday also.
Center of Excellence in Embedded Systems (CoEES): With the help of TIFAC a center of excellence in Embedded Systems is being setup at College premises that encourages R&D activity across connected departments such as ECE, CSE, EEE etc.
EKLuv.Ya!: A 24 X 7 online collaborative learning platform to enhance, bond student learning as well as student-teacher relationship beyond 8a.m – 4p.m. is put in place. This will also bring hidden academic talents of students and help them improve their communication and expression skills through online discussion forums, wiki articles, RSS feeds and interactive sessions.
ACMS: An in-house developed software that keeps parents informed about their wards' attendance, academic performance or any other pertinent information at the earliest through SMS/Internet (email) that would be very handy and quickly viewable.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Well-equipped sports pavilion with accessories, and a separate playground for various games, and a fully furnished gymnasium induce the students to participate in various inter-collegiate sports events and win laurels for the college. Students are encouraged to participate Inter-collegiate, Inter-University and State Level competitions.
CANTEEN: Hygenic, Spacious and well-ventilated canteen is run by the management. Snacks, Food, Coffee, Tea and Softdrinks are served for both the staff and students.
HOSTEL: Separate hostels for both boys and girls within the college campus. A temple at the entrance of the college gives an auspicious look to the campus.
TRANSPORT: The college operates buses covering all parts of Chennai and its suburbs in order to help of the students to be on time to the college. However, the college is well connected by Metropolitan bus services as it is in the vicinity of the city.
