The Dharma Naidu Educational and Charitable Trust started functioning under the leadership of late Thiru.D.Sudharssanam, M.L.A. The S.A. Engineering College got established in the Academic Year 1998-99 with the approval of the AICTE and affiliation with the University of Madras and the general policy of the Govt. of TamilNadu to give high priority to Technical Education.
Impressed by the excellent record of performance of the institute academically and in the matters of financial discipline and environment inside the campus, six U.G Programmes of B.E / B.Tech with an intake of 480 P.G. Programmes of M.E, M.C.A and M.B.A. each with an intake of 18, where approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University.

To create an excellent teaching and learning environment for our staff ad students to realize their full potential thus enabling them to contribute positively to the community.To significantly enhance the self-confidence level for developing creative skills of staff and students.

We continually motivate all our educators and support service providers for enhancing professional competencies for effective implementation of Quality Management System.

Infrastructure
The campus is spread over a vast area of about 42 acres and has 2.95 lakh sq.ft. of constructed area which includes class rooms, drawing halls, laboratories, workshops and associated facilities.
Faculty: Consistent with the high standard of excellence aimed at by the institution, it has got a team of highly experienced, well qualified and dedicated faculty members in all disciplines. In addition, eminent professors, scientists and experts from industry give guest lectures to the students in their respective areas of specialization. Periodical Industrial Visits and educational tours are also arranged to supplement the classroom lectures.
Department of Basic Sciences: The college is provided with the following well equipped laboratories to cater to the instructional needs of the practical courses in the first year: Workshops & Basic Engineering Practices Laboratories, Physics Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, Communication Skills Laboratory, English Language Laboratory.
Department of Civil Engineering: The faculties of the Department are very dedicated in imparting the knowledge to the students to carry out the analysis of problems and solutions, planning, coordination, calculation, direction and other activities. They make the students qualified to accomplish interdisciplinary jobs in the evaluation not only of aspects concerning design and calculation but also of general features such as economic and social aspects.
Department of Computer Science Engineering: The Department of Computer Science and Enginering was established in the year 1998.The Department is accredited by NBA. The Department has grown in strong over the years in terms of infrastructure facilities, experienced and dedicated team of faculty strength, technical expertise, modern teaching aids, browsing facilities etc.
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering: The Department of Electronics and communication Engineering was established in the year 1998. The department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation. It inculcates a spirit of scientific temper and analytical thinking and trains the students in contemporary technologies in Electronics and communication to meet the needs of the industry. Lectures, seminars, laboratory classes and tutorials form a large part of in-college academic activity. The Department imparts quality education to its students, in modern lecture rooms equipped with appropriate teaching aids.
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering: The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was established in the year 2001. The Department has the best facilities available in the region in terms of infrastructure including laboratories and faculty. In laboratories, students experiment with the latest technologies, which help them in kindling their latest skills. The tutorials offer individual contact amongst a group of students and a tutor.
Department of Mechanical Engineering: The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established since the inception of the College ie in the year 1998.The department is accredited by NBA and ISO 9001:2000 certified. The department is housed with an area of approximately 2,200 sq.m. Apart from central library, the department is provided with separate library comprising of 600 volumes of books, national and inter national journals, proceedings, technical CD’s, etc.
Department of Information Technology: The Department of Information Technology was established since inception of the College i.e. in the year 1998. The department has been accredited by NBA and certified by ISO 9001:2000. It has centralized computer center with a built up area of 1400 sq.m.The department aims to promoting quality and value based education, enables the students to face the challenges of the technical society and creating awareness and encouraged to develop on the future trends of the IT Industry. The department has excellent & well equipped air-conditioned laboratory with updated configurations. The department has highly experienced & dedicated team of faculty, who are providing and maintaining high standards of teaching & learning.
Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A): The Department of Computer Applications was established in the year 1999. The Department has the best facilities available in the region in terms of infrastructure including laboratories and faculty.
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A): The Department of Business Administration was established in the year 2005. The Department has the best facilities available in the region in terms of infrastructure including well equipped laboratories and well experienced faculty.
The Department of M.E Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2006. The infrastructure of the Department includes class rooms equipped with modern audio video aids, tutorial rooms, well equipped laboratories, departmental library & seminar hall. Qualified and Experienced team of faculty members with varied experience in areas of System Software, Computer Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, and also in Mobile and Computer Networks, Object Oriented Design, Computer Graphics and Image Processing, Distributed Computing, Database Management System, Multimedia and Neural Networks.
