Degrees conferred on over 200 students

Tiruvannamalai: Young graduates should nurture self-confidence, A. Jothimurugan, Vice Chancellor of Tiruvalluvar University said.
Conferring degrees on 209 students of Dr. M.G.R. Chokkalingam Arts College, Arani at the 10th Graduation Day of the institution held in its campus on Friday, Dr. Jothimurugan said that Tiruvalluvar University has planned to start ten community colleges to train and properly certify skilled workers such as two-wheeler and four-wheeler mechanics, air-conditioner and refrigeration mechanics and so on.
“It will help them land good jobs at home and overseas as the certificates would have global acceptance” he said.
Chairman of the College A.C. Shanmugam delivered the presidential address and Principal N. Venkatesan delivered the welcome address.
Earlier, the 2nd graduation day of Sri Balaji College of Education was held on the same campus in which K. Padmanaban, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute conferred degrees on students. Secretary A.C. Ravi participated in both the functions.
