Courses in textile technologies

Coimbatore: The South India Textile Research Association will conduct one-year certificate courses in the textile field this year.

According to a release from the institute, the association will conduct one-year part-time, certificate programmes in spinning, weaving and knitting technologies. It will also conduct a one-year, full-time course in textile technology for supervisory jobs in spinning mills.
Those who have completed Plus Two, diploma or degree in any branch can apply. The course fee is Rs. 20,000 per candidate. The programmes will start in the first week of August and will get over by April 2011.

The association has more than 300 textile units as its members and the curriculum has been framed with inputs from the industry. Application forms can be downloaded from www.sitra.org.in
