Counselling for medical courses scheduled to begin on June 21

Chennai: Applications for undergraduate medical and dental courses will be on sale from May 17, Health Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam announced on Wednesday.

The applications would be available at all government medical colleges until May 27. The last date for submission of filled-in forms has been fixed for the same date. The random number will be generated on June 7 and rank list released on June 11.
Counselling is scheduled to begin on June 21 and the last date for the first phase of counselling is July 7. The date for student's admission into college is July 21, Mr. Panneerselvam said.

A total of 1483 MBBS seats in 15 government medical colleges are available for candidates in Tamil Nadu, after surrendering seats to the All India Quota. As many as 262 seats have been allocated in the government colleges to those entering through the Central quota. A further 348 seats are available under the State quota from five self-financing medical colleges. While 85 BDS seats are available at the Government Dental College, a further 778 under the State quota are there in self-financing dental colleges. For paramedical degree courses, applications will be sold from June 7 to June 15. Application forms must be submitted by June 15. The random number will be generated on June 21 and rank list released on June 25. Counselling will commence on July 5 for these courses.
