Central University to function from Collectorate complex annexe
Tiruvarur: Central University to be inaugurated at Tiruvarur on February 14 by the Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will initially function from an annexe building in the district Collectorate Complex.
The 50,000 sqft annexe has ground plus three floors. The University, for the establishment of which an ordinance has already been promulgated by the Central Government and search for a Vice-chancellor is on, will be a prestigious addition to Tiruvarur, the native place of the Chief Minister.
It will put Tiruvarur on the national and international maps with respect to education and research. Already the State Government has announced the establishment of a medical college at Tiruvarur for which construction work is going on in the Complex. It will start functioning from the coming academic year.
