18-month management course launched
Madurai: A General Management Programme for Accounting Professionals was launched by the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, which would be offered at a centre in Palanganatham here. The programme is aimed for chartered accountants, company secretaries and cost accountants to groom them to top management positions.
A press release from IIM-Calcutta said that the programme is of 18 months duration with 16 subjects in financial management. More details of the programme are available on website:

Some of the topics covered include financial risk management, financial statements analysis and business valuation, corporate restructuring (mergers and acquisitions), strategic planning of human resources, global competition and strategy.
The classes for candidates joining this course would be held after office hours (6.45 p.m. to 9.45 p.m.) on Mondays and Tuesdays. According to the press release, candidates can develop their competency for senior management roles with business strategy skills. The total fees for the 18-month course including the application form/ study material is Rs.2,70,250.
