August 18, 2008 - Admission to B.Sc. Nursing Course (For Trained Nurses) for 2008 - 2009

Applications are invited for admission to B.Sc., (Nursing) Degree Course for Trained (Diploma) Nurses 2008-2009 Session in Government College of Nursing, Madras Medical College, Chennai - 3 and Self-Financing Colleges in the State of Tamil Nadu.

Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.350/- (General); Rs.100/- (Special Category) and SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of cost of application and Prospectus, they can obtain the application on written requisition duly enclosing attested xerox copy of the Community Certificate.

By Post: Rs.350/- (General); Rs.100/- (Special Category - Physically Handicapped / Children of Ex-Servicemen) and SC / ST candidates are exempted from payment of cost of application and Prospectus - duly enclosing the postal stamp to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty only) for ordinary post along with the DD.

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
Demand Draft in favour of "The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600 010" payable at Chennai from any Nationalised bank. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:

• In Person: Application forms can be obtained with a written requisition to the Dean of Government Medical Colleges duly enclosing a crossed Demand Draft.
  
  
• By Post: Applications can also be obtained by addressing the Dean of Government Medical Colleges, duly enclosing the postal stamp to the value of Rs.60/- (Rupees Sixty only) for ordinary post along with the required Demand Draft (Rs.350/- or Rs.100/- as the case may be). The SC/ST candidates need not enclose Demand draft.
  
  
• Through Website: Application forms can be downloaded from www.tnhealth.org and send the application along with the crossed Demand Draft. (Rs.350/- or Rs.100/- as the case may be). SC/ST candidates need not enclose Demand Draft.

Qualification:

• Candidates belonging to all categories should have obtained aggregate of 50% of marks in the Diploma in Nursing Examinations and with a pass in HSC with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or) Nursing Vocational subject with Foundation Science and Physics/Chemistry, (or) Candidates who belong to all categories must have obtained not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in HSC (with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry Botany and Zoology (or) Nursing Vocational Subject and Foundation Science and Physics/Chemistry) and with a pass in three year Diploma in Nursing Course.
  
  
• Candidates who have passed any other Qualifying Examination other than the HSC (Academic) Examination should submit the eligibility Certificate obtained from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai before admission.

The number of seats offered by the Self-Financing Institutions will be displayed at the time of counselling.
Physically Handicapped which come under Special category can also apply through general Application Form itself.
